Aptos Blockchain Partners with Myco and Expands Capabilities with Tether and Keyless Wallets

The Aptos Foundation, committed to bolstering the development and growth of the Aptos blockchain, has announced a new partnership with Myco, a pioneering Web3 streaming platform. According to a recent press release shared with Cointelegraph, this collaboration will see Myco integrating its streaming services with the Aptos blockchain to bring decentralization to the forefront of digital streaming.

This partnership is set to enhance technical integration, develop resources for builders, and drive forward the advancements in Web3 technologies. The aim is to deliver innovative and decentralized digital streaming experiences that align with the future of entertainment.

Myco’s Strategic Shift and Token Launch

As part of its strategic plans, Myco will be transitioning its infrastructure to the Aptos blockchain, marking a significant step towards its goal of becoming fully decentralized. This move is also closely tied to the upcoming launch of Myco’s native utility token on the Aptos blockchain, scheduled for early Q4 of this year.

Hani El Khatib, co-founder and chief of Web3 at Myco, views this launch as a “significant milestone” for the platform. El Khatib emphasized that this integration is in perfect harmony with Myco’s mission to democratize Web3-enabled streaming and make it accessible to a broader audience.

On August 19, Tether introduced its USDT, a dollar-pegged token, onto the Aptos blockchain. This integration aims to leverage Aptos’ scalability and speed to offer users reduced transaction costs. The inclusion of USDT on Aptos provides a cost-effective option for transactions, with fees reduced to “a fraction of a penny,” enhancing the overall efficiency of digital currency transactions.

Aptos Introduces Keyless Wallets with Zero-Knowledge Proofs

In a move to simplify Web3 onboarding, Aptos launched a new keyless wallet application on July 3, utilizing zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs for user verification. Named “Aptos Connect,” this innovative wallet allows users to access decentralized applications (DApps) using a Google login, bypassing traditional security measures such as passkeys or multiparty computation networks.

Aptos Connect is designed to streamline the user experience, enabling seamless creation and management of Aptos blockchain accounts with just one click. This development represents a significant step towards making Web3 technologies more accessible to everyday users.
